jgm@k.gp.cs.cmu.edu (John Myers) (07/15/88)

In several articles various people write:
>I never received perl 2.0 patch #XX. Could someone please email me a copy?

Each patch for perl that Lary Wall posts includes the following information.
Similar instructions exists for patch.

If you are missing previous patches they can be obtained from me:

	Larry Wall
	lwall@jpl-devvax.jpl.nasa.gov

If you send a mail message of the following form it will greatly speed
	processing:

	Subject: Command
@SH mailpatch PATH perl 2.0 LIST
		   ^ note the c

where PATH is a return path FROM ME TO YOU either in Internet notation,
or in bang notation from some well-known host, and LIST is the number
of one or more patches you need, separated by spaces, commas, and/or
hyphens. Saying 35- says everything from 35 to the end.

You can also get the patches via anonymous FTP from
	jpl-devvax.jpl.nasa.gov (128.149.8.43).

Hi,

here my experience with the mail server from "lwall@..."

perl-1.0, part20- : about 3 hours between the request and the response!
perl-2.0, patch9- : about 4 hours between the request and the response!

Every part arrived here!! Don't forget, I'm sitting in West-Germany!
I'm wondering why so much people requesting for "can somebody mail me.."?
It's so easy! So folks: switch on your brain before mailing: "** HELP!!! **".
I'm starting with reading before I'm porting any software and you can see,
my English is not very good. :-)

Best regards

Waldemar (DK3VN)
