It appears what I really uncovered was an omission from the comp.sources.unix index. I was working from a copy of "List of sources in the archives", article <1050@fig.bbn.com>, posted last September at the beginning of c.s.u volume 16. I figured "Hey, it's the most recent index, if a patch has been posted, it'll be in here." I'd read the list numerous times expecting to find a patch for gwyn-dir-lib, but there wasn't one listed. HOWEVER! Consulting a different index, ~ftp/comp.sources.unix/index, I find that dir-lib.pch was published in volume 10. Oh well... -- Edward C.
