Greetings- (By the way, I first sent this to laser-lovers, and was chastised that they were the wrong place for this question.) I am trying to bring up titroff along with our Imagen IMPRINT-10 on a VAX 4.1BSD. I am having a bit of trouble getting past step 1. (Whatever that is.) If I do an "a.out -man some-manual-page-for-example | ta" which I would have guessed would try to give me something legible on my terminal, it is legible but no horizontal spacing. If I pass the output through the tc filter which is supposed to prepare it for a tektronix 4014 and then put it out on a retro-graphics, again I get it, but this time the vertical spacing is screwy. Oh well, so I blast right ahead and try the imagen. Sending the output through dcan gives me an error that it can't find RASTERLIST. Was that supposed to be distributed? Should I say a.out -Tcan ? If I run dcan with the debug option, I don't get that error message, I do get a banner page, but no output! I am a bit out of my depth on this. Can any of you give me a hint or two? You will need to use the -T option to troff (a.out) to specify the printer type. Otherwise, it doesn't know the correct resolution of the output device. Unspecified, it probably defaults to a Linotron 202. -- Ed Gould ucbvax!mtxinu!ed
