If you've been reading net.jobs recently, it's clear that there are people on the net who want to talk about drugs. It occurred to me a week or two ago that "net.rec.drugs" would be a good newsgroup to have in these days. I don't propose that it be used for illegal purposes, of course! (Those dumb enough to post such messages would only do it once...) Rather, I see topics like the effect of recreational drugs on society: on the job marketplace, on sports, individuals, medicine, philosophy, religion, government, economics, psychology, civil liberties, education, etc. Then people who want jobs can get back to reading job descriptions while the rest of us have a forum for interesting and relevant discussions. I hereby propose the creation of net.rec.drugs and will tabulate "yea" or "nay" responses MAILED to hoptoad!gnu. If you have something enlightening and succinct to say about this to the net, send it ONLY to net.news.group. If you have something unenlightening or verbose to say, don't post it -- mail it to me. We can talk it over. Remember, MAIL responses to me, hoptoad!gnu. Hoptoad talks to: sun, well, ptsfa, lll-crg, ihnp4, cbosgd, utzoo, micropro, ucsfcgl, nsc, leadsv, octopus, unisoft, portal, atari, proper. -- John Gilmore {sun,ptsfa,lll-crg,ihnp4}!hoptoad!gnu jgilmore@lll-crg.arpa
