We have perl 2.0 patch level 18 running on a Sun 3/160 with SunOS 3.5 and on a '532 VME board running GENIX (National's version of Sys V). I came across a strange discrepancy in the behavior of these two versions of perl. I was using the 'sort' function with my own sorting routine (one that was almost identical to the example given in the man page), and I found that the two versions sorted the same information differently. The difference was introduced when I sorted on identical keys. The two different systems sorted identical keys in different orders. Anyone else have this problem? If it matters some of the distributed tests didn't work, but they seemed completely unrelated to the sort routine (I don't remember what they were now - something having to do with the 'stat' function I think). --- Jonathan Sweedler === National Semiconductor Israel UUCP: ...!{amdahl,hplabs,decwrl}!nsc!taux01!cjosta Domain: cjosta@taux01.nsc.com
