I haven't been keeping up with the bug fixes for nn so I'm not sure if all of the questions I'm about to ask have been handled, so please bear with me. At the beginning of this month we had a disk drive failure, and after restoring the system everything seemed to work except some of the nn features. Here's a specific list of what is failing and what Ive done to correct the situation. Whenever I use 'G' to go to a few particular groups it gives me the number of unread articles etc.. but when I type 'u' to get a list of those articles nn sends me back to the previous group. This occurred even if new articles had come in. I know this problem is not in the news system itself because rn runs without incident. We have tried using nnadmin to init and update and the only thing that seems to have had any effect was the update. Now if I ask for one of the groups that failed before nn comes back with a 'group is empty' message and leaves me at the group I was currently looking at. The other problem we're having with nn is just as annoying. Sometimes when a user finishes reading some groups and nn quits with 'xx articles left in yy groups' and then they try to reenter nn, they can't because nn just kicks them back out with the 'xx articles ...' message. Obviously nn should allow the user a chance to read those xx articles not just kick them out of the new reader. I hope I have described the problems well enough to get some help on them.
