Hello, I need some help getting mail from a Decnet site
with access to Internet to UUCP. I've tried lots of
different combinations, but I haven't been successful.
(Note this note is being posted from a unix machine, where
I don't have these problems. The VMS machine I am refering
to doesn't carry news.)
Here's the scenario:
I am on a company wide decnet, We can send out internet mail
through a gate way like this:
decnet_node::mrgate!login@internet.domain
For example, to send mail to my old (non-existant) purdue
account I would send mail to something like:
joevax::mrgate!simpsong@ma.ecn.purdue.edu
The problem I have is, I have a friend who is connected
to internet via UUCP, and I want to send mail to him.
He works for hp, and his hp site can be easily reached from
hplabs.HP.COM. When I try to add his site to the path:
decnet_node::mrgate!uucp_site!another!login@hplabs.HP.COM
It doesn'nt work... I think the first uucp_site is getting
lost somewhere, and hplabs hasn't heard of "another" (a
uucp site connected to the first "uucp_site")
Any help would be appreciated. I do read all the above mentioned
newsgroups, but this question may be to specific to be of interest...
