I have an RT/PC, running AIX version 2.1 (a system V look-alike). It is connected to an ethernet, and has SMTP, but the programs that interface to it are bad (for sending mail) and just won't work at all (for receiving mail, since AIX 2.1 TCP/IP software isn't fully domainised and the rest of campus is). I have a copy of MH 6.5, but the standalone version of it won't send mail to other machines. I don't have sendmail or mmdf. Ideally, what I would like is to find someone who has gotten mh working on such a beast, or at least can give me a few pointers to where to start patching the standalone mh to work with SMTP. A public domain version of mmdf or sendmail that'll work with our smtp would be nice, if that's a reasonable thing to ask for. I can give a more detailed explanation of how mail is supposed to work on AIX if you send me mail (I'm sending this from a 780; it works); there's no point cluttering the net with it. Thanks, Kathy Morris (morris@navajo.stanford.edu ...!decwrl!navajo.stanford.edu)
