I have just hooked up a TeK Unix machine up to several of our other Unix machines around here, and can talk *to* it fine (by polling hourly), but can't get seem to get past the problem with the "local host domain" and "known domains" mess that the mailer on that system (claims its sendmail -- i don't know, i've never used sendmail before) uses. I have tried adding "uucp", "UUCP", "lily", "elric", "herman", "corum" to the local and known domains to no avail. Whenever i send mail it responds shortly thereafter with the above error message: $ mail root@lily sendmail: host lily . LOCAL not in domain (thats probably not the exact wording since i'm not on that system right now, but its the gist of the problem) Can anyone help with this problem? All i want to do is allow this system (mascb) to be able to send mail out.... Please respond by e-mail to both: Derek Terveer det@hawkmoon.MN.ORG uunet!rosevax!elric!hawkmoon!det Denny Drake uunet!rosevax!elric!mascb!dennyd Thanks in advance, derek -- Derek Terveer root@hawkmoon.MN.ORG uunet!rosevax!elric!hawkmoon!root
