In a month or so (whenever my visa comes through) I'm moving to Japan to a company that has no external e-mail capability. From what I hear, their internal e-mail isn't hot either. I've been requested to set up internal/external mail, and possibly news (if I can get my way [(-:]). I (think I) am a reasonably competent C/UNIX person. However, I haven't the slightest idea on what software to bring, etc. Where can I get a PD mailer? Where do I get the news software? How do I set up external mail (a good book reference would be appreciated here)? What system do I use (UUCP, CSNET, etc? -- are they the same? I don't mind modifying a running kernel, but I don't know /bin/mail from /lib/sendmail...). The system: I've been told to expect "vanilla System V with sockets, job control and pseudo-tty's." Any/All info is/will be appreciated. *jeff* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jeffrey Eric Francis Friedl Box 2173 Babcock House ..!{uunet,decvax}!unh!jeff Durham New Hampshire 03824 Hey Steve, did I tell you?
