[comp.mail.misc] Sudden problem with pathalias

tar@ksuvax1.cis.ksu.edu (Tim Ramsey) (07/07/89)

My configuration: ksuvax1 is a VAX 11/780 with 4.3BSD wNFS (Mt. Xinu).

My problem: suddenly (as in within the last 60 hours or so) pathalias
has been producing 1 line nmail.paths and nmail.where files.

nmail.paths:

ksuvax1 %s

nmail.where:

ksuvax1(u.usa.ks.1) %s

This used to work. Really. I'm sure that nothing has been touched since
1) I'm the only one who would do any touching and 2) the last mod times
are all way before the problem came up.

To update the pathalias databases my (inherited) home grown script
executes:

  zcat $MAPDIR/[du].*.Z | pathalias -i -l ksuvax1 2> NOT.REACHED \
  | sort > nmail.paths

I've checked my map entry and the map entries for my UUCP neighbors
(harry, rutgers, texbell, atanasoff, eecea, ksuage). They all seem
fine. However, the NOT.REACHED file contains 2726 sites(!), including
rutgers (but not eecea or texbell).

Anybody have any clues? I'm leaving for 2 weeks today (Friday evening),
so I'd like to get this working ASAP. Thanks in advance for any help.

Tim
