I'm in the middle of a very confusing discussion with the folks at Uunet, and I'm wondering whether or not what I'm asking for is even feasible. Our situation is that we connect to four major sites: sun, nbires, uunet, and boulder. Our MX record is set up such that mail to the Solbourne.COM domain is forwarded to uunet. It seems to me that it should be possible to set it up so that if sun, nbires, or boulder see mail to the Solbourne.COM domain, they send it to us directly, instead of forwarding it to uunet. In fact, our sendmail/smail configuration is set up so that we do just this with the domains we talk to. That is, a message to a site within the Colorado.EDU domain is sent directly to boulder, which is a local call for us. Is what I'm asking for possible? If not, it seems like the net could save some money with this ability. If so, what is the procedure? -- David Elliott dce@Solbourne.COM ...!{boulder,nbires,sun}!stan!dce
