It was suggested that someone reading this newsgroup might be able to
offer a suggestion on how to maintain a mailing list. I am running a
rather vanilla kind of system with respect to mail, though I do use
ELM as my user interface. I have access to sendmail, though I have
not had the motivation to install it as of yet (I'm running an AT&T
3B1), but will do so if it will make it easier to get a mailing-list
going.
The idea is that I want to be able to allow users to send to a given
address on my machine, and have their messages be automatically broad-
cast to each address on a mailing list (which will be manually maintained).
I suppose I could send a similar inquiry to people who maintain mailing-
lists on the net, but I thought I'd try here first.
Thanks in advance!

This sounds like an alias to me. I use an alias to handle a mailing list from my site at work. In my case, I have the alias defined in /usr/lib/mail/saliases (as I'm running smail 2.5 there), but a similar file should/could exist on most systems in a similar directory. There are of course more complex ways of doing this. >Gary S. Trujillo gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us >Somerville, Massachusetts {wjh12,spdcc,ima,cdp}!gnosys!gst Ed. A.
