I am on the Internet, UUCP, and BITNET. I need to routinely exchange email with someone using PROFS at an IBM internal site. I have his user ID and node ID. Is there a technique I can use or a gateway I can employ to route mail between us him? We have tried one technique so far, without luck. That is to run a program called EXTNET on his system to register him at the Internet location IBM.COM. (EXTNET does not seem to exist on his system.) All leads appreciated. (Sorry to ask a question that has probably been answered many times before.) Jonathan Eunice jonathan@unix.cis.pitt.edu 412-682-1368

Posting number 8,231 on getting to IBM In general, you *can't* send mail from outside IBM to inside IBM (VNET) Only those authorized for inbound or outbound mail and receive or send mail through the VNET/IBM internet gateway (IBM.COM. Bitnet is a bit different.) Mostly it's research types that get outbound/inbound mail access. //jbaltz jerry b. altzman "We've got to get in to get out" 212 854 8058 jbaltz@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu jauus@cuvmb (bitnet) ...!rutgers!columbia!cunixf!jbaltz (bang!)
