|> Article: <76763@aerospace.AERO.ORG> |> Author: goldstein@arecibo.aero.org (Fogbound Child) | | I'm trying to access a UUCP address from over here on INTERNET. I can't seem | to find a way to do this. | | The address I'm trying to reach looks like: | <user>%<company>.co.jp@uucp.uu.net ^^^^ | UU.NET is recognized by several gateways, but they assert that UUCP is | invalid for this domain. There is no such site named "uucp.uu.net". There is, however, a somewhat obscure site called "uunet.uu.net" that people use once in a while ... try that instead. Uunet is smart enough to figure out the correct route for your mail once it has arrived at Uunet. You can also request to get a mail/news feed directly from Uunet. But don't tell anyone or otherwise everyone will want one :-) Eric -- Eric Peterson <> peterson@nu.cs.fsu.edu <> gatech!nu.cs.fsu.edu!peterson FSU CS Systems Support Group * Room 011 Love Bldg * (904) 644-7339 "What you are is what you are is what you are SO WHAT?" - The Respectables

Real mailers don't need to be told about uunet.uu.net when the user wants to send to an address like ``<user>%<company>.co.jp@uucp.uu.net''. Instead, they can send mail straight to ``<user>@<company>.co.jp''. Craig
