Hello. This is (not only) for some friend in west germany on the independent uucp net 'subnet'. I'd like to know the status of your organization; in italy 'sublink' is a .ORG domain as well since march 1990 and we call direct rutgers.edu. We get from OLIVETTI OSN all of the netnews, while we keep for mail a standalone link with US. As subnet, we are not on EUnet as well. We appear to be an external branch of usenet/internet, instead.. It's Ok, since email works fine, and our fees are dozens of times lower than eunet's ones. The question: do you happen to get your mail to EUnet bounced back sometime? EUnet has the rights to do it, apparently. What i would like to understand is the following: - one host on EUnet can send to sublink. Sublink pays for US-->italy trafic and delivers the stuff. - replies sometime (!) are rejected on mcsun backbone, and come back with something like 'you are not authorized to send to ...' I think that EUnet should clarify this point with their hosts, saying something like 'these guys are not reachable', and cut off any message going OUT as well. I wonder what a eunet subscriber would say receiving a 'you are not authorized to send'... A friend on Eunet says that -since he pays (a lot) for eunet services- he has the right to send to us (and i am willing to get his mail!). What's your situation? Please reply to maps@i2ack.sublink.org Greetings, Paolo -- Paolo Ventafridda - Milano, ITALY | INTERNET: venta@i2ack.SUBLINK.ORG
