Every once in awhile, someone asks how to send mail to a Compuserve customer. I recently had occassion to try it myself and ran into a problem. The person I was sending mail to gave me the wrong information for his user number and my attempts bounced twice. After the second try, I fired off a letter to postmaster@compuserve.com to A) find out what was wrong and B) see if it would get through. First I found out about the incorrect address the CIS customer gave me. Then I found out there is a REAL person at postmaster@compuserve.com and her name is Kathy Chevrier. In my message, I had mentioned that several people here had tried to get email through to CIS with no success. Kathy told me to let them know she is happy to try and help people who are having problems getting mail into CIS from the outside world. Just send your message to the postmaster@compuserve.com address and state your problem. BTW, the incantation for sending to CIS is: xxxxx.nnnn@compuserve.com where xxxxx.nnnn is the persons customer number. Note the seperator is a PERIOD and not a comma. The CIS mail handling system doesn't care if the rest is CompuServe.Com or compuserve.com or COMPUSERVE.COM since case is ignored. Hope this helps someone... *>> Dave <<* [------: Dave Ratcliffe :----------: 2832 Croyden Rd.
