I've had some problems getting mail to both New Zealand and England. Here are the details: (1) user@pa.shef.ac.uk and user@uk.ac.shef.pa I used the first form, but got an error message stating something like "unknown host name". The institution is Sheffield Univ in England. The second form was suggested, but I'm pretty sure I must reverse the order of each domain component. Is "pa.shef.ac.uk" a valid domain name? (2) user@toru.isor.vuw.ac.nz Here something *very* strange is happening. If I, % finger user@toru.isor.vuw.ac.nz I show info about "user" (of course, another name). But if I try and mail to user@toru.isor.vuw.ac.nz, my local mailer says, "unknown user". I.e., "finger" shows a valid account, yet "sendmail" doesn't. - - - - - Any help (direct mail, please) on either of these problems is most appreciated! -- Kenneth H.
