[comp.mail.misc] Berkeley Mail & Quoted String addresses

vjk@tut.fi (Kein{nen Vesa) (11/05/90)

Has anyone hacked Berkeley Mail ("/usr/ucb/Mail") so that
it accepts RFC822 quoted-string syntax
(e.g. "Matti Meikalainen"@somecompany.fi).

Bleah, yuk, /usr/ucb/Mail is an ugly program internally. Mush
looks much nicer internally... and offers the same user interface.
Therefore if'n you have to hack in quoting of the local-part
it'd be much easier to do it to mush .. (or maybe it's already there?)

And, yes, I have worked with the internals of both..
