A person sent me the following message as e-mail. It describes how to find an e-mail address if your host doesn't keep accurate maps around. -dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 22 Nov 90 10:15:34 -0500 From: dlb!sun!mcnc.org!aurs01!aurw91!miles (Robert Miles) Subject: Re: Finding an e-mail address I have found a different method of finding an e-mail address; somewhat harder, but it does not require your host to even have a directory /usr/spool/maps. Subscribe to newsgroup comp.mail.maps; it carries the updates to what would be in /usr/spool/uumaps at a site with good maps. Don't bother reading all the articles unless you really want to. Search the subject lines for the lastest updates for the state or country you are interested in; note that large lists are split into .1, .2, .3, etc. sections. Search these articles for the desired addresses. Feel free to post this - I would post it if this machine could post news. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have heard that the return address above often doesn't work.
