[comp.mail.misc] Email policies - a summary

Hooper_TA@cc.curtin.edu.au (Todd Hooper) (11/23/90)

Thanks to everyone who responded on my recent question on electronic
mail policy.

I've prepared a rough summary (about 500 lines) which includes quite
a few 'we have no policy' replies as well as one or two actual policies
from various places.

You can anonymously ftp this from cc.curtin.edu.au. The filename is
'policy.txt'.

Also in the same ftp area is a copy of a survey on postmaster ethics
that was done some time ago by Pat McGregor. The filename for this one is
'ethics.txt' and I would recommend people fetching it, as it offers
an excellent insight into many of the issues I was interested in.

People without ftp access can mail me and I will send them a copy of
either document.

Hello..I tried to FTP these files and my resolver said that you were an
unknown host (no surprise there.) I tried to send mail to you but our
mailer as well as another (cunyvm.cuny.edu) also died on sending mail toy
you (again, unknown node.) Could you post an FTP number so we can FTP
the files for the benefit of those who cant get to your system thru mail
or your FTP hostname? Thanx
Andy

Your resolver and mailer both lie.
