[comp.mail.misc] QUE Mail Bridge for Macs - HELP!

murray@motto.UUCP (Murray S. Kucherawy) (01/09/91)

I have installed the QUE (QuickMail - UNIX Exchange) software package on
an Ultrix machine and a Mac II over a serial line. The connection is
made properly whenever told to do so, and data is transferred properly.
Mail from the Mac users to Ultrix users is also delivered properly.

However, the reverse is not true. Mail to the Mac users from Ultrix
users is always delivered to "Custodian", and it's becoming very annoying
to forward everything. I note that the software for QUE on the Ultrix
end of things is adding two headers to stuff heading for the Mac;
specifically "X-Mac-To" and "X-Mac-From". The alias for my QuickMail
address on Ultrix is:

	mac_murrayk: "|/usr/maildrops/quemail -d enet -u 'Murray_Kucherawy'"

...where "enet" is the name of the maildrop we have created on the Ultrix
machine.

The headers it creates on mail going to the Mac is:

	X-Mac-To: murray_kucherawy
	X-Mac-From: Murray S. Kucherawy <murray>
		.
		.
		.

I suspect it's the "X-Mac-To" line that is the problem, but I can't be sure.

Attempts to contact the software's authors have met with no success.
Can someone please help me?!
