[comp.mail.misc] SPAN to UUCP gateway

mw@ign.UUCP (Michel Wurtz) (02/22/91)

I have some problems with email coming from span: I can send mail
to a computer on the span network, using
   <username>@logos.jpl.nasa.gov for example, but he cannot answer.
We tried a lot of things, like
   JPLLSI::"mw@ign.uucp",
   JPLLSI::"mw%ign.uucp@eunet.uu.net",
   JPLLSI::"inria!ign!mw@eunet.uu.net",
and of course the same final address, replacing JPLLSI by IO, AMES,
JPLDIG, IAPOBS::GATEWAY, and other well known gateways...

So, is there a mean to reach uucp sites from LOGOS, or an other SPAN computer?

Thanks.

   I have found that AMES::"inria!ign!mw@uunet.uu.net" should work. The IO::
gateway has been discontinued. I have no idea what 'eunet.uu.net' is.

EUnet is not a part of UUnet (nor the other way around).
Try:
  JPLLSI::"ign!mw@relay.EU.net"
  JPLLSI::"mw%ign.uucp@relay.EU.net"
If it doesn't know how to reach relay.EU.net, you're lost.
