[comp.mail.misc] Internet <--> Saudi Arabia

jrblack@shemtaia.weeg.uiowa.edu (James Roger Black) (02/26/91)

There was an article in the newspaper a day or two ago announcing that some
students at a midwestern university (Indiana?) had hacked together a patch
between the Internet and Saudi Arabia for sending email to the troops. Does
anybody have any details about how this was done? My boss's enquiring mind
wants to know.

This is NOT about a link from Saudi Arabia to Internet. But about
BITNET.
I had received in Oct 90 email from an address of this form:

<name@SAKACS00.BITNET>

This was a conference delegate from Saudi Arabia.
Perhaps you can contact the postmaster at this address.
