vpopesc%neptune@calstatela.edu (Valentin Popescu) (03/24/91)
Hello, I have a question with which I hope someone can help. Here's my problem: when I send a letter from this machine, it goes out as vpopesc%neptune@calstatela.edu. However, if someone tries to reply to my letter, it bounces. If they try to send mail to vpopesc@neptune.calstatela.edu, it works fine. I sent mail to the system administrator, but no fix as of yet. Now my question is: is it possible for me to get sendmail to add vpopesc@neptune.calstatela.edu as the return path, instead of vpopesc%neptune..etc ? Keep in mind that I have no root privileges, nor can I modify the sendmail.cf file. This is a Sun4/380, 4.1, and my mailer is mush 7.2.1 (I have my own binary and can modify it and recompile it). Oh yah, should I add that you shouldn't reply to this letter as is, but rather 'mail vpopesc@neptune.calstatela.edu' ? :) Unless of course, you want to see a bounced letter.. Thanks in advance for any help. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Valentin Popescu SnailMail Address: vpopesc@neptune.calstatela.edu P.O.
