There is a new version of the interest-groups list (list-of-lists) available. This file provides a list of various discussion lists available to network electronic mail users. The file is now available for anonymous FTP from host ftp.nisc.sri.com (192.33.33.22) in directory netinfo. The pathname of the file is netinfo/interest-groups. You can use email to request this file. Send a message to mail-server@nisc.sri.com with a line send netinfo/interest-groups ...in the message body. The list is seven hundred thousand characters long, so think twice before you burden the email system with this request. To get on or off this notification list, send requests to interest-groups-request@nisc.sri.com. To submit new descriptions of mailing lists, to update existing information, or to delete old mailing list information from the List-of-Lists, send a message to interest-groups-request@nisc.sri.com. The NISC depends on the network user population to inform us of changes to any of the network lists. We appreciate your cooperation! SRI International Network Information Systems Center P.S. Our vendor's sendmail cored on the list notify list. Sigh.

The response I got, after mailing from two different systems successively, was identical both times: ****** From MAILER-DAEMON@NISC.SRI.COM Sun May 26 06:17:00 1991 Received: by msb.com (4.1/3.1.090690-Meetpoint Station BBS) id AA23786; Sun, 26 May 91 06:16:59 EDT Received: from nisc.sri.com by uu.psi.com (5.61/3.1.090690-Performance Systems International) id AA22949; Sun, 26 May 91 05:09:37 -0400 Received: from uu.psi.com by NISC.SRI.COM (5.65/SRI-NISC1.1) id AA02972; Sun, 26 May 91 02:11:43 -0700 Date: Sun, 26 May 91 02:11:43 -0700 From: MAILER-DAEMON@NISC.SRI.COM (Mail Delivery Subsystem) Subject: Returned mail: unknown mailer error 1 Message-Id: <9105260911.AA02972@NISC.SRI.COM> To: <msb.com!wlinden@msb.com> Status: R ----- Transcript of session follows ----- getwd: can't stat . 554 "|/home/fs3/mserv/listener"... unknown mailer error 1 ----- Unsent message follows ----- Received: from uu.psi.com by NISC.SRI.COM (5.65/SRI-NISC1.1) id AA02970; Sun, 26 May 91 02:11:43 -0700 Received: from msb.com by uu.psi.com (5.61/3.1.090690-Performance Systems International) id AA22945; Sun, 26 May 91 05:09:26 -0400 Date: Sun, 26 May 91 04:48:38 EDT >From: wlinden@msb.com (Will Linden) Received: by msb.com (4.1/3.1.090690-Meetpoint Station BBS) id AA23605; Sun, 26 May 91 04:48:38 EDT Message-Id: <9105260848.AA23605@msb.com> To: mail-server@nisc.sri.com Subject: send netinfo/interest-groups send netinfo/interest-groups ****** Can anyone advise me? -- Will Linden MCI: WLINDEN Internet: wlinden@msb.com "On to the castle, to kill the royal UUCP: ...uupsi!mpoint!wlinden family, and claim the throne that Compuserve: 72737,2150 isn't mine by right!"
