[comp.mail.misc] Runner-up: broken mailer of the month award

brian@ucsd.Edu (Brian Kantor) (06/09/91)

And the runner-up in the Broken Mailer of the Month award (so far) for
June goes to bitnet site RPIECS for its internet-to-bitnet mail
distribution software, which for the last few weeks has suddenly
started returning undeliverable mail in the info-hams and packet-radio
mailing lists (which are gatewayed from rec.radio.amateur.{misc,packet}
back to the POSTING address for the newgroup, so that everyone on usenet
and the mailing lists gets to know that WOLGA@POLDER can't be delivered
to right away, but they'll keep on trying for six more days.

Of course, mail to system@rpiecs doesn't get answered either.

Golly, it's just been a red-letter month so far. Let's see how it goes
in the 20 days we have left.

Any masochists out there want to run some mailing lists with just about
a thousand recipients? I've got some swampland for your retirement....

I've sent Brian, under separate cover, BITEARN node info for RPIECS,
which includes Postmaster and Bitnet Techrep userids.
