[comp.mail.misc] Converting UUCP Addresses to Internet

Could somebody tell me how to convert a UUCP address
to an Internet-style address?
 
To add one complication: I am also forwarding the address  
to another site, for example I usually have to send mail
that comes from
 
    fred@yahoo.com
 
to
 
    fred%yahoo.com@faraway
 
before I can send it out.
