After reading this article, I was somewhat concerned, as comp.sources.mac
has not arrived at Fluke yet; I was further confused when reading Spaf's
latest of Active Newsgroups, and noticing that comp.sources.mac is not
listed. Has this been created "net-wide" yet, or is this some local strain
that Ephraim is accessing? The news administrators at Fluke have assured me
that we have not gotten a "create newsgroup" message here yet; just wondered
if others were in the same boat.

I assumed that mod.mac.{binaries,sources} were the current newsgroups for
distributing Macintosh sources and binaries, and that they might someday
metamorphize into comp.sources.mac... but I was assuming that was going to
be delayed.

If the answer is common knowledge, please reply by mail. T'anks.

(On confusion about comp.sources.mac)

I think, judging from some of my correspondence, that some sites have
created comp.sources.mac (and removed net.sources.mac). The result is
that postings to these groups aren't propagating.

I *THINK* that crossposting to both groupnames (c.s.m and n.s.m) should
cause articles to propagate intact through sites which carry either
group, and may therefore serve as a fix until someone lets the offending
sites know that they should get rid of comp.sources.mac and bring back
n.s.m. Would someone who is more knowledgable in the ways of news
please advise as to whether this is a good idea?
