[news.groups] Proposal for a new newsgroup: comp.sources.windows.x

turner@daisy.UUCP (D'arc Angel) (12/19/87)

A reasonable number of patches (X11, uwm, etc.) and source programs
which serve both as examples of good X11 programming and as useful tools
are not readily available to us poor souls on USENET. I propose a
MODERATED newsgroup to post these for the usenet community. I already
moderate 2 other groups on the net so I do know what I am getting into
(into what I am getting ???). I would like to hear votes from people on:

1. should binary posting also be included ? in a seperate group ?

2. should the official X11 patches from MIT be posted ?

3. most importantly, is this group necessary ?

PLEASE email the responses to me and I will post the summary next year
