[news.groups] Another OOP group

djones@megatest.UUCP (Dave Jones) (05/17/88)

in article <1809@stpstn.UUCP}, aMessage@stpstn.UUCP (Usenet messages objcc group) says:
}
} Currently, there is a posting in news.groups
} to form an Objective-C news group. This group
} would be called comp.lang.objc.
}

...

} This newsgroup will serve the following needs:
}
} - Request to Stepstone from the net user
} community to create an Objective-C newsgroup.
}

  Huh?

} - Provide an appropriate newsgroup for articles
}    concerning Objective-C.
}
}  - Provide a neutral forum for Objective-C users
}    for information exchange.
}

  Neutral with regard to what? (Another "Huh?") Whatever you want
  to be neutral about, don't count on it. Not on the net, home of
  the world's largest egos.

...

} US Mail contacts: The Stepstone Corp.
} Neil Friedman 75 Glen Rd.
} Andy Novobilski Sandy Hook, CT 06482
}                      (203) 426 - 1875
}

Sandy Hook is the home of PPI, the Objective-C company. Is there
a connection?

My vote:

I think I would prefer to have just one group for object-oriented
programming and the languages designed for it, rather than bunches.
We could call it comp.lang.ool or something. But if you start up
a comp.lang.objc, I'll subscribe.
