An alternative news distribution 3b.* has been created. The following sites have agreed to carry the distribution. ames.arc.nasa.gov rutgers.edu lll-winken.llnl.gov killer netsys.com lamc I haven't spoken with rick at uunet yet, but will soon and hopefully he will carry this one too. I believe ames,rutgers,and possibly lll-winken will welcome nntp feeds, but for uucp feeds the admins at killer,netsys, and lamc should be contacted. Let's get these news groups rolling, and avoid the chaff in comp.sys.att . Len

Whoops, I should have said 3B News Distribution. It is not dedicated to 3B2 systems but 3B minis. I.e. 3B2/XXX , 3B5 ,3B15's and so on.. Sorry! Len

Umm... Am I really the only person that has noticed that there has been code in inews since at least version 2.10.2 that requires the first character of a newsgroup to be an alphabetic chatacter? groups beginning with 3 won't work under any version of the news software that I know of (except maybe C news) I think you will have to pick another name (or get every site to change their software...) --rick
