From now on, I will vote FOR any group which is moderated and AGAINST any group that is not - and I encourage others to consider doing the same. I think it is a lot more work to "wade" through the goo of articles that flow by to find the "gems" than for those that agree with my concerns about "information overload" (not to speak of "garbage overload") to each take turns and moderate a group for a while ... my only alternative is to stop paying attention to a lot of groups and articles which I am still interested in. Actually, I'm not going to do that at all. But it's worth considering,
just to counteract Werner's bullshit vote.
Instead I'm going to continue doing what I always do with newsgroup votes.
Determine if the group is of interest to me, and if not (like
talk.politics.china) then I won't vote. If it does interest me (like
rec.music.newnewsgroup) then I'll vote depending on whether I think the
newsgroup should be created.
In other words I'll do what Werner won't be doing. I'll be thinking.
