I would like to make one more suggestions, which seems in line with current net opinion. Any group that requires an intermediate level be added to the hierarchy (comp.ovens.toaster) should be preceded by a sucessful vote for that level (comp.ovens.misc). I'm formally announcing the beginning of the discussion period for comp.sw.misc, as a place to root such groups as comp.sw.andrew and comp.sw.components. If there is no objection voting for comp.sw.misc will begin on the 24th of april, continuing until the 23rd of may. I realise that there is a certain conflict between comp.sw.misc and other groups, such as comp.software-eng. This may turn out to be a problem, or may just indicate that this node is needed in the namespace. -- Peter da Silva, Xenix Support, Ferranti International Controls Corporation.
