I would like to propose a newsgroup change. The group comp.sys.apple is predominantly Apple II related topics. I havent seen an Apple III discussion in several years (since the machines are only sold by Sun Marketing, Inc as Apple II clones, that is probably why). This group is gatewayed into info-apple, proline, and perhaps some other places. But I would like to propose that we rename it to comp.sys.apple2 to match the name of our source and binary group comp.sys.apple2. After two weeks of discussion, if there is support for this idea and no clear opposition, I would like to put this up for a vote and then send thru a request to the various powers that be to rename the group. I hope that if you know folks doing the gatewaying that you might forward them info regarding the conclusion of this topic. One final note. If there is any desire for a meta discussion concerning the tactics of renaming a group, I personally would appreciate a different subject line so as to keep things straight. Thanks! Note that for folks who get this via mailing lists that I have no idea what group you have to subscribe to to follow this discussion - I am sorry , but news.groups is the primary place of discussing this topic on the usenet side of the discussions.
