London, October 12th 1989, 1100 BST *** comp.os.os2 passes *** This note contains: - the results of the "vote" on comp.os.os2 - details of what happens next - the list of people who voted YES - the list of people who voted NO Vote results: 192 (YES) and 28 (NO) =================================== The voting period for creation of comp.os.os2 is now closed. At close of business on October 11th 1989 I (mor@datlog.co.uk) had received 220 votes of which 192 were in favor of creation of comp.os.os2 and 28 rejected comp.os.os2. According to the newsgroup procedures active when the call for votes was posted (September 11th 1989) the vote is considered "passed" which means that the newsgroup comp.os.os2 will be created. Thank you to all those who voted. What happens next ================= After this announcement the newsgroup procedures require me to wait five days to allow for "settling time" after which the newsgroup can be created. During this time I will accept votes dated before the end of the voting period (October 11th 1989) and will correct any mistakes made during votetaking, however I expect no significant change in the vote result. After the settling period I shall send this information (possibly modified by corrections or late-arriving votes) to the moderators of news.announce.newgroups who will then create the newsgroup.
