Columbus' day. A great day to announce that the new newsgroup has
passed with a wide margin of 215 positive votes! Or 91.2 % of the
total. The winning vote was sent by Ale Mandel, at the end of the
6th day. The count was then 107-7.
I'm including here all valid votes. Votes arrived before and after
the stated period have not been counted. Some people sent votes in
Spanish or Portuguese. I haven't counted those either, unless the
sender voted again in English.
*** 5-day waiting period ***. Anyone interested in checking the votes
can send me mail during the next five days. For obvious reasons, I
can't keep the votes too long, so I'll delete them by October 22,
unless someone gives me a good reason not to. If everything looks OK,
I would ask the people in charge to issue the group.

I want to give a few special thanks:
