[news.groups] Please send me a yes vote for sci.aquaria or I'll destroy your city

tale@pawl.rpi.edu (David C Lawrence) (10/22/89)

I wonder, with no way to prove any hypothesis, how this posting in
rec.humor.funny might have affected the aquaria vote. My personal
opinion is probably very little, but it's hard to tell with things
like this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wondered about that...

Even if it was somewhat funny.

You mean you're worried people really believe I'll destroy they're
city, or you're worried people will find out about the vote
who normally wouldn't ?

I'd move if I were you, Troy NY is next...

Actually, the biggest possible result is a lot of people saying, "huh,
what's sci.aquaria?" But to be honest, my opinion was that the only
side to be hurt by that posting would be the sci.aquaria side, as some
might find quake jokes in bad taste. (What, a joke in bad taste in
RHF???) But since the posting came from Richard, I saw no problem with
that issue.

Besides you should see some of the really *lame* earthquake joke submissions
that I am getting. (You will, actually, I'm putting them in a digest so
you can skip 'em with one 'n')
