[news.groups] Name Game

While I respect Bill Thacker's punning prowess, his defense
of the sci.aquaria scam is wrong. If a site admin doesn't want
to carry rec groups -- and mine doesn't, sadly -- to slip a rec
group in disguised as a sci group is fraudulent. Yes, it might
mean better distribution, and thus perhaps a better group ...
but do the ends justify the means? No -- they never have,
they never will, if the means are wrong.

I am reminded of a recent event in Centre, Pennsylvania. The
local paper there frequently exposes the odious shenanigans of
local politicians. So one day a few months ago some pols were
spotted, pulling the postage-paid subscription envelopes out of
copies of the paper. It seems they were intending to mail the
envelopes in empty, thus fraudulently running up the paper's
expenses. Richard's misdirection is on the same level.
