Pursuant to the guidelines of group creation, after a suitable period of discussion (~30 days), a call for votes on the creation of comp.lang.perl is issued. As proposed, comp.lang.perl would be an unmoderated group, used for the discussion of the Perl language (features, bugs, internals, etc.) and the exchanging of Perl programs and packages. The voting period will end at midnight, December 1st, 1989.
