In two weeks I'll be graduating, and my future access to netnews is question- able, but here's my opinion anyway: I think there should be a floyd group. I don't really have a preference for what it should be called (rec.music.pfloyd sounds good to me). I believe there's enough interest in the group (as demonstrated in alt.rock-n-roll), and the band itself has enough material and history behind it to support a newsgroup. So, once again, my vote is for the creation of a Pink Floyd news group. ---Bob Eichler (RLE100 @ PSUVM)

Tell you what. Before creating any more specific groupie groups let me run a
vote on rec.music.rock. Unless flamed to death before then I'll call for a
discussion period Dec 12 or so. If I am flamed to death I'll call for something
else. You have been warned.

Go ahead and run your call for votes. In the meantime, I'll continue hosting the campaign for Pink Floyd's own group. There's plenty of precedent here, rec.music.gdead, rec.music.beatles, etc, and we (Floyd fans) happen to think Pink Floyd deserves it's own group. If I were to wait for you to run the call for whatever on rec.music.rock, I would have done alot of work in vain. In other words, it's not over till it's over. And it's not over. As long as there are still Pink Floyd fans, there's always this Pink Floyd fanatic campaigning for an elite group (not a 'groupie group', please!! I imagine it's comments like that that get you 'flamed to death'). So to put it short, I'm not going to stop now. You have been warned. P.S. Good luck with rec.music.rock.
