[news.groups] CALL FOR VOTES: SCI.VIRTUAL-WORLDS

         CALL FOR VOTE: SCI.VIRTUAL WORLDS TO CLOSE JANUARY 14
         ------------------------------------------------------

We received two negative responses to our plan to abridge the voting
period on sci.virtual-worlds. One was from a Usenet administrator who
promised to boycott any postings in this new newsgroup until after the
originally announced close of voting.

Okay. We can't counter this type of threat, so the CALL FOR VOTES:
SCI.VIRTUAL-WORLDS will be allowed to run out on JANUARY 14, as
previously announced, and not January 5th as some (including us) had
hoped for.  There's no tyranny of the majority here!  |;-}

For those who hoped to get the show on the road sooner, I apologize.
If you want to send email to those who protested an earlier end to
voting, send it to me and I'll refer it. Thanks again for your interest.
