[news.groups] rec.arts.cinema charter - spoilers?

howells@krypton.arc.nasa.gov (John Howells) (01/07/90)

This discussion on rec.arts.cinema seems to be going very well, but I have
one question regarding spoiler warnings. Do we have to have them in
r.a.cinema (if it passes)? I personally hate them, but I certainly
understand the need for them in r.a.movies where current films are being
discussed while they are still in general release. It tends to get
ridiculous when people in that newsgroup complain about the lack of spoiler
warnings when discussing classics like Citizen Kane or King Kong, which
presumably everyone in the world has had plenty of opportunity to see. Can
we get a consensus now before the group passes?

My apologies if this has already been discussed.
