We were experiencing a few, ah, difficulties here, but they seem to be cleared
up. Hence, I would like to restart the discussion of what is now
rec.models.misc. Several people stated, in mail, that they preferred .misc,
and I have no real objections, nor has anyone I've suggested this revised name
to. Statement of purpose follows:
REC.MODELS.MISC
Rec.models.misc is a proposed group for the discussion of topics involved in
the construction of models, both scale and free-form. It should be a forum
for discussions ranging from new scale kits, to airbrush tips, to general
painting do's and don't, and such. It should not be moderated, and it should
NEVER be limited to scale and/or plastic modelling. All forms are welcome. In
my opinion, it would fill a gap between rec.models.rc and rec.models.rockets.
I personally would like to see this group come to be. I have gotten many
letters of support, but I don't know if I got enough. I would like to see
some discussion, and possible a call for votes in two weeks or so (around
Feb 1). I don't see a potential lapse in protocol there, as the call for
discussion actually started around Jan 5 or so. Please, let me know your
opinions!
