Group: comp.sys.cisco Charter: Vendor specific discussion about products from cisco systems Inc. Management: The group will be unmoderated. Discussion started: 11 Jan 1990 Issues: Naming Many have suggested that the name be comp.dcom.cisco. This seems to be an appropriate name, but is inconsistent with other groups, such as comp.sys.proteon. We have not yet reached general agreement on this issue, and need to have further discussion of this issue posted to news.groups. Another possibility for a name is comp.dcom.sys.cisco. Charter Others point out that there is a need for a general group which is appropriate for general discussions of networking hardware (e.g. routers, brouters, terminal servers, bridges, etc.). While this is a good idea, this seems to be orthogonal to the original subject of a cisco-specific group. If someone else would like to propose a group and a name, please feel free to do so. This issue seems to be resolved. Gateway There has been much discussion (mostly privately) about setting up a gateway between this group and the Internet mailing list. This also seems to be orthogonal to the creation of the proposed group. This issue also seems to be resolved. Management There has been no discussion about the original proposal of an unmoderated group. Silence is assent, so this issue is considered resolved.
