The answer, after about a week, is clearly neither. Less than ten folks have
bothered to say anything about the group creation and the overriding feeling
is one of apathy.
So consider this the end of the pre-discussion phase. And, next time the
"lets split the group" discussion starts, ignore it, since it's obvious
nobody really wants to.

How nice of you to speak for everyone. I, for one, would
like to see rec.pets broken down to rec.pets.{animal} and
can't find anyone who can provide a solid answer as to
