Before we let the arbitrary and ill-considered list of "soapbox" groups become a standard, I thought I would propose my own list. This is based only on groups I have some knowledge of. Soapbox Groups net.abortion, net.origins Semi-Soapbox Groups net.politics, net.politics.theory, net.women, net.music, net.followup Quasi-Soapbox Groups net.religion, net.religion.christian, net.religion.jewish, net.sci, net.philosophy, net.jokes.d, net.space, net.singles, net.college, net.rec.nude, these days we add net.news and net.news.group. Bizarro Groups net.rumor, net.suicide, net.jokes, net.rec.drugs, net.poems, net.misc, net.test, junk I think my classification makes as much sense as any I have heard. ucbvax!brahms!gsmith Gene Ward Smith/UCB Math Dept/Berkeley CA 94720 "There are no differences but differences of degree between degrees of difference and no difference"
