[news.groups] Programming the 95LX

laird@think.com (Laird Popkin) (05/08/91)

There are a number of programming languages which run on the Portfolio
which ought to run on the HP 95LX. These include PBASIC (38K BASIC
interpreter, with a few Portfolio extensions which you could ignore), as
well as small implementations of Forth and Lisp. I have heard that Turbo
Pascal 1.0 can be run on the Portfolio, since it's only about 35K, but I
haven't tried that myself. With 512K RAM as compared to 128K for the
Portfolio there should be quite a few compilers and interpreters which will
run on the 95LX. You could try anonymous login to atari.archive (IP
141.211.164.8) to check out the Portfolio file section -- any DOS
application which runs on a Portfolio should run fine on the 95LX.

And anybody else reading this who has a Portfolio -- check out PBASIC.
It's pretty darned impressive! And free is a _great_ price!
