A friend of mine wants to write some software using the undocumented LOADALL (or whatever) instruction on the 80286. This instruction apparently offers a special escape to real mode on the 286 without having to go through the reset register and BIOS on the PC/AT. There was also a recent rumour that IBM had requested that this instruction be put back into the 386, from which it had been removed. Can someone please supply me with details on this instruction's format and function? It would be very greatly appreciated. I know that Microsoft and IBM are already using it, so it wouldn't be the first time someone got it. -- Dan Frank uucp: ... uwvax!prairie!dan arpa: dan%caseus@spool.wisc.edu
