[comp.sys.intel] B1 stepping design defects...

jeffh@hplsla.HP.COM (Jeff Harrell) (02/01/89)

I've got a AT 386 machine with INTEL's 80386 B1 stepping.
This chip has a design defect that causes the CPU to hang
whin DMA/paging/coprocessor (80387) accesses are occurring.

Now, I'm not one to bitch about vendor problems; but, should
I have to buy a D-step part to get my system to function?
I think INTEL should supply the fix! Why should I pay for
INTEL's bug...
